Wapakoneta City Schools
Project Type

Full service HVAC and building automation agreement.

Impact

Better performing systems and savings in excess of $30,000 per year.

Background

In 2009, Wapakoneta City Schools built two new elementary school buildings and retro-fitted one high school building. The elementary schools were designed with energy efficiency in mind as they implemented an active chilled beam system. Once installed, the system was not performing as expected. In fact, the two elementary schools were the worst performing schools in the district.

Challenges

HVAC Service for newly constructed school building averaging over $1.50 a square foot in electric and gas consumption.

Solution

Perfection Group was contracted to help fix the problem. Through a full service HVAC and building automation contract, Perfection was able to help the district drastically reduce their utility spend, saving the district over $100,000. There was a reduction of utilities to $1.05 a square foot within the first year of the service agreement. This is approximately a 30% savings for the district.
